The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides expert clinical advice to patients-clients, carers and other health care professionals relating to the complex healthcare needs within palliative care.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a clinical expert who, through leadership, facilitates excellence in research based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant models the CORE values of the organisation.
The overall purpose of this role is to identify, initiate and collaborate in the development and provision of programs to improve the provision of quality end of life care to the older person in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
The role is focused on integrating the care for the older person at end of life by developing the skills and knowledge base of staff, the patients and their carers.
The CNC functions as a key resource person to other services within the ISLHD and other community based services such as Residential Aged Care Facilities.

Essential requirements
Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role
Current AHPRA Registration with a minimum of 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, including at least 3 years full-time equivalent experience in palliative care, aged care, or a related specialty field.
Holds relevant postgraduate qualifications or other qualifications and-or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation
Valid NSW Drivers Licence
