Job Description

Communications Adviser
to join our Strategic Communications team and help bring our messaging to life across multiple channels.
As a Communications Adviser, you'll play a key role in creating clear, engaging and accessible content that supports AFCA's strategy and connects with a diverse range of stakeholders. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you'll help translate complex ideas into meaningful communications that align with our brand, tone and values.
This is initially a 12 month contract at AFCA.
What you'll be doing
Draft, edit and publish content across channels including email, intranet, web, newsletters, presentations and scripts
Support communication plans and campaigns aligned to strategic priorities
Ensure messaging is consistent, accessible and aligned with AFCA's tone of voice and visual identity
Partner with subject matter experts to turn complex information into clear, engaging content
Manage feedback, approvals and production timelines to ensure high-quality outputs are delivered on time
Support reporting and measurement of communication effectiveness
Contribute to team planning, ideas, continuous improvement initiatives and any other tasks as required
Qualifications
You're a strong communicator with an eye for detail and a passion for making information clear, inclusive and engaging. You enjoy collaborating with others and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Tertiary qualifications in communications, PR, journalism or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills across a variety of formats
Solid interpersonal and proactive relationship-building skills
The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Experience with digital communication tools (e.g. intranet/CMS, email platforms) – desirable
A collaborative mindset and a resilient and flexible approach
An interest in financial fairness and improving consumer outcomes is highly regarded
