Brisbane | 4 to 5 days per week, split across two client partners
Love bringing clarity and momentum to communications across purpose-driven organisations?
Looking for a role where you can shape strategy and stay hands-on with delivery?
About Wild Hive
Wild Hive is a national collective of marketing, communications and fundraising specialists working as a virtually integrated team across Australia.
We embed experienced professionals within purpose-led organisations, helping them strengthen their brand, grow engagement and communicate clearly. Our team includes marketers, communicators, designers, digital specialists, fundraisers and storytellers who work collaboratively to deliver meaningful outcomes.
You'll be part of the Wild Hive team, supported by experienced marketing and communications professionals, while working closely with two of our Brisbane-based client partners — a large mission-driven organisation with multiple ministries and sites across the state, and an independent K–12 college focused on lifting enrolment and sharing its story with prospective families. This role offers real variety, purpose and the chance to become a trusted extension of two very different teams.
About the Role
We are seeking a capable and strategic Marketing & Communications Manager to embed part-time (4 to 5 days per week) across two purpose-led client partners.
Your time will be split across both organisations. With one, you'll work directly alongside multiple department leads, bringing clarity, consistency and momentum to communications that have historically been handled in a decentralised, often reactive way. With the other, you'll support enrolment and growth goals through proactive digital campaigns and story-led content that showcases the organisation's distinctive strengths. Across both, you'll move between strategy and hands-on delivery.
What you'll be doing:
With a large, multi-department organisation:
Develop an organisation-wide internal and external communications strategy,

including cascading comms across departments
Build department-specific comms plans tailored to different teams' priorities and audiences
Lead campaign delivery for key organisational priorities, from platform/program launches to enrolment or engagement campaigns
Run health checks and improvements across multiple affiliated websites, and managing/optimising Google Ads and paid social spend
Oversee website content updates, particularly where systems or process changes affect existing resources
Manage organic social content across multiple pages and sites
Coordinate video/content capture for events, training and key organisational resources, working alongside existing videography support
Coach on-the-ground staff and volunteers to confidently create their own authentic content
Act as the primary comms point of contact for department leads, running regular check-ins to triage requests and manage capacity
With an education or enrolment-focused organisation:
Support proactive, coordinated digital acquisition campaigns across channels such as Meta, Google Search, LinkedIn and YouTube to strengthen enrolment or engagement pipelines
Deliver story-led, multi-channel content — community stories, day-in-the-life content and milestone moments — across organic social, website/blog and newsletters
Strengthen and clarifying brand messaging and organisational identity
Support PR and media activity, and coordinating creative/video shoots
Monitor and report on campaign performance and using insights to optimise ongoing activity
Across both:
Managing content calendars and keeping multiple projects on track across two distinct, busy portfolios

Collaborating with Wild Hive's broader specialist team (designers, videographers, digital specialists) to deliver on each client's needs
About You
You're a strategic thinker who's just as comfortable in the detail — someone who can set a communications direction and then roll up your sleeves to deliver it. You're energised by variety, and can switch context between different organisations and audiences without missing a beat.
You enjoy building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, take ownership of your work, and thrive on bringing order to complexity. You're equally comfortable presenting a comms strategy, managing a paid ad account, and coaching a staff member through their first Instagram post.
What you'll bring to the Hive:
5+ years' experience in marketing, communications or a related generalist role
Experience developing and delivering communications strategy, not just executing campaigns
Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capability across multiple teams, departments or organisations
Content coordination experience; photography and videography familiarity is a strong plus
Excellent organisation and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously across two client contexts
A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
Experience working with community-based organisations, education providers, not-for-profits, faith-based organisations or purpose-led businesses will be highly regarded.
Why Join Wild Hive?
Adaptable 4 to 5 day-per-week role with variety and ownership across two client partners
The opportunity to build (and grow) comms functions that are moving from reactive to proactive
Support from an experienced and collaborative specialist marketing team
Meaningful work helping two purpose-driven organisations grow their impact
A flexible, supportive and high-performing team culture
