Role
As the
Work Health & Safety Specialist
, you will be the organisation's subject matter expert, providing strategic and operational WHS advice across the business. Working closely with leaders and the People & Culture team, you'll drive safety initiatives, ensure legislative compliance, and foster a proactive safety culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert advice and guidance on Work Health & Safety legislation, policies, and best practice.
Partner with leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks while promoting a positive safety culture.
Lead workplace incident investigations, hazard management,



and corrective action planning.
Oversee workers compensation and return-to-work processes, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
Review, develop, and implement WHS policies, procedures, and safety frameworks to ensure legislative compliance.
Deliver WHS training, education, and awareness initiatives to build organisational capability.
Monitor WHS performance, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports to support continuous improvement.
About You
Demonstrated experience in a dedicated Work Health & Safety role, ideally within a corporate, professional services, association, or membership-based workplace.
Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and contemporary safety practices.
Experience managing workplace incidents, risk assessments, workers compensation, and return-to-work programs.
Proven ability to influence, coach, and build trusted relationships with leaders and key stakeholders.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with a practical and proactive approach.
