The Role
The purpose of this position is to provide holistic and effective Withdrawal Nursing care to individuals with substance use issues within the community health environment such as their own home.
This includes the provision of nursing assessments, intervention and care to clients with substance misuse problems.
Including withdrawal, replacement therapies, harm minimisation care, physical health assessments and care co-ordination, Blood Borne virus, sexual health, wound care, safer sex and other appropriate health and social issues.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an RN
Demonstrated skills in assessment, formulation, case planning and treatment for clients with substance use issues.
Demonstrated experience working with clients who have complex health and/or social needs.
Demonstrated experience in operating within a Dual Diagnosis model of care. .
Sound understanding of Harm minimisation principles, particularly as they apply to Holistic Nursing care.
Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the development and attainment of team goals.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
