We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Scientific/Technical Officer to join our Immunology team at our state-of-the-art laboratory in North Ryde, NSW. About the Role
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic testing and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory. Working alongside experienced staff and medical professionals, you will contribute to the provision of accurate and timely results that directly support patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of immunological assays and laboratory analyses to support the diagnosis and monitoring of disease.
Analyse, interpret, and validate test results in accordance with laboratory procedures and quality standards.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of results to support clinical decision-making.
Contribute to research, validation, and development projects aimed at improving testing methodologies and expanding service capabilities.
Maintain detailed laboratory records and documentation in compliance with accreditation and quality assurance requirements.
Collaborate effectively with fellow scientists, pathologists, and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Assist in training, mentoring, and supporting junior laboratory staff when required.
Participate in quality improvement activities and support a culture of excellence within the laboratory.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
A degree or postgraduate qualification in Immunology, Medical Laboratory Science,



or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent skills and experience will also be considered.
A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory environment.
Demonstrated technical expertise in immunological testing and analytical techniques.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to make sound scientific decisions.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, quality, and patient safety.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience working in a NATA-accredited pathology laboratory.
Familiarity with laboratory automation platforms and quality management systems.
Eligibility for membership with the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS).
