An opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced
HORSE TRUCK DRIVER
(HR licence required) in the NSW South-West Slopes, commencing 1st September - late November.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities
Commencing on the 1st September, through until late November, the successful applicant will play a key role in our annual horse breeding season, transporting valuable thoroughbred mares and foals to leading stallion farms throughout the Hunter Valley and Victoria before returning them home to our stud near Young *****) after covers.

September through to late November/early December
, the role is expected to involve multiple transport trips per week in our trucks provided. Each way the trip takes approximately 7‐8 hours of driving.
Strong horse handling and horse cartage experience is imperative for transporting the valuable thoroughbreds between the farms so must be very capable of safely loading and unloading mares and foals.
Evidence of HR truck driving experience and employment with a clean history and HR drivers licence.
Situated on Moppity Road between the regional centres of Young, Harden and Boorowa, the property offers the perfect balance of rural lifestyle and modern convenience.
The nearby town of Young is just a 20 minute drive away and provides supermarkets (IGA, Aldi, Woolworths, Big W, Bunnings), cafés, restaurants, sporting facilities, medical services,
schools and all essential amenities. Harden offers rail connections to Sydney and Melbourne, while Boorowa is renowned for its friendly country community and relaxed lifestyle.
Full time pay will be based on a set driving rate per km (which is then converted to hours to calculate pay) to either the Hunter Valley or to studs in Victoria. Base pay is 40 hours per week then overtime applied. Alternatively, contractors are welcome to apply if that is preferred.
Single on farm cabin accommodation for rest in between trips is available if required.
Essential Requirements
Clean HR driver's licence history.
Proven experience of safely driving livestock or horse transport vehicles.
Horse handling experience and confidence working with young and valuable stock.
Excellent stockmanship and animal welfare standards.
Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to be adaptable and assist wherever required.
