Retail Manager– Northcote About Us Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, is working is a growing retail food business specialising in Korean-style fried chicken who are seeking their new Retail Manager.
The business operates through takeaway, customer pickups and third-party delivery platforms, supported by state of the art integrated retail technology and digital ordering systems.
As part of their long-term growth strategy, our client is investing in scalable retail systems, operational consistency and commercial processes to support future expansion across multiple locations.
· Location: Northcote, VIC · Employment Type: Full time, ongoing · Salary: Negotiable in the range $80,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation About the Role We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the commercial and operational management of our retail business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business performance, managing staff, coordinating inventory and purchasing activities, maintaining compliance with company policies, and implementing operational systems that improve efficiency and support business growth.
The role requires a commercially focused manager with strong leadership, financial administration and business systems experience who can optimise retail operations across multiple sites while ensuring high standards of customer service and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operation of the retail business to achieve sales, profitability and customer service objectives.
Develop and implement business strategies to improve operational efficiency, sales performance and overall profitability.
Monitor sales performance, analyse trading results and prepare operational and financial reports for management.




Manage retail budgets, expenses and cost control initiatives while supporting pricing and promotional strategies.
Coordinate inventory management, purchasing activities and supplier relationships to ensure product availability and minimise stock losses.
Monitor stock movement and inventory records, ensuring accurate stock control and reconciliation procedures.
Recruit, supervise, train and performance manage employees, including workforce planning, rostering and payroll administration using workforce management systems.
Develop, implement and maintain operational procedures, policies and staff training programs to ensure consistent business practices.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, food retail regulations, company policies and other statutory obligations.
Manage customer service standards, respond to customer enquiries and resolve complaints to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Coordinate the implementation and ongoing improvement of retail technology, point-of-sale systems and operational software to enhance business performance.
Identify opportunities to improve business processes and support the development of systems suitable for future multi-site operations.
Skills Experience Required to be considered Diploma or higher in Business, Management,



Commerce or a closely related discipline or agreed substitute At least one or more years of experience, managing retail operations, preferably within a high-volume retail or food retail environment.
Demonstrated experience in financial administration, budgeting, reporting and cost management.
Experience managing inventory systems, purchasing processes and supplier relationships.
Strong knowledge of retail workforce planning, payroll administration and employee supervision.
Experience implementing and maintaining retail operating procedures and business systems.
Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and regulatory compliance.
Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to make commercial decisions.
Excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills.
Experience using retail management software, point-of-sale systems and workforce management platforms such as Deputy is highly desirable.
Valid unrestricted Victorian drivers license You must have unrestricted rights to work full time in Australia to apply for this position.
