Senior Product Developer — Homewares Lifestyle Sydney | Hybrid | Part Time About the Role This is a hands-on senior role sitting at the intersection of design, sourcing, and production.
You'll take ownership of the product development process from initial concept through to final delivery, ensuring every product is developed on time, on spec, and to the quality standards the brand is known for.
You'll bring deep technical knowledge, strong supplier relationships, and the ability to manage complex critical paths across multiple categories simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities: Product Development Technical Lead end-to-end product development across assigned homewares and lifestyle categories, from design brief through to production handover Develop and maintain detailed specifications, tech packs, and construction documentation to clearly communicate requirements to suppliers and factories Manage sample review and approval processes, providing clear and accurate feedback to suppliers at each development stage Ensure all product meets quality, safety, and compliance requirements relevant to the Australian market Drive continuous improvement in product quality, construction, and material innovation across the range Sourcing Supplier Management Manage relationships with existing supplier and factory base, and identify new sourcing opportunities where relevant Negotiate costs, lead times, and minimum order quantities to achieve margin targets without compromising on quality Conduct factory and supplier reviews, both remotely and through market travel where required Build and maintain a strong knowledge of global supply markets, materials,



and manufacturing capabilities relevant to homewares and lifestyle product Critical Path Planning Own and manage the critical path for all assigned categories, proactively identifying and resolving risks to delivery timelines Collaborate with buying and planning teams to align development schedules with trade and ranging calendars Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across all development trackers and systems Partner with logistics and operations teams to ensure smooth inbound delivery and customs compliance About You 5–7 years of product development experience within homewares, lifestyle, interiors, or a related consumer goods category Strong technical knowledge of materials, construction methods, and manufacturing processes relevant to homewares and lifestyle product Proven ability to manage complex critical paths across multiple categories and suppliers simultaneously Experience working with both domestic and international suppliers and factories Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to specification writing and sample review Commercially aware you understand costing, margin, and what it takes to build a range that works on the floor and online Excellent communicator with strong relationship-building skills across internal teams and external partners Proficient in Excel and product development or PLM systems Experience with quality and compliance requirements for the Australian market is highly regarded Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for supplier and factory visits as required What's on Offer A senior role with real category ownership within a respected Australian lifestyle brand A team-oriented, design-led team environment Hybrid working arrangement, 2 days in, 1 WFH The opportunity to contribute to a brand at an exciting point in its growth Up to $150,000 + super pro rata for 3 days pending experience reach out for more information ****************************
