About the Role We're currently working with an ASX top 50 organisation who are looking for an Automation Test Engineer to join their Sydney office on an initial 6-month contract.
You will be tasked with leading the automation efforts in terms of plans around framework tool selection, collaboration execution.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for web, mobile, and API applications.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless and repeatable quality checks.
Identify, document, and track software defects through their lifecycle, collaborating with developers for timely resolution.
Perform regression, functional, performance, and integration testing across various environments.
Analyze test results and provide transparent, actionable feedback to development and product teams.
Participate in requirement reviews and provide input on testability, coverage, and potential edge cases.
Continuously enhance automation frameworks, tools, and processes to improve test coverage and efficiency.
Contribute to QA best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team.




Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on automation.
Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, C#).
Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, or similar.
Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
Understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
Solid understanding of software testing principles, QA methodologies, and SDLC processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with performance or load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
Exposure to containerization and cloud platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
