Exciting and rare opportunity for a Lead sports trading analyst to join a globally recognised organisation as it establishes its first Sports Trading team in Australia! As one of the inaugural hires, you'll play a key role in building the function from the ground up, helping shape trading operations, establish best practices and influence the future direction of the team as it continues to grow.
We're seeking an experienced Lead Sports Trading Analyst to lead day-to-day desk activities while shaping trading strategy, managing real-time risk exposure and driving commercial performance across live and pre-match markets. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced sportsbook trading professional with a proven track record in trading operations, risk management and team leadership. You'll oversee a team of Trading Analysts and Execution Traders, optimise liability and margin performance across major sporting events, and work closely with Product, Data and Compliance teams to continuously improve trading systems, processes and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of Trading Analysts and Execution Traders.
Oversee real-time trading operations across live and pre-match sporting events.
Develop trading risk frameworks, liability limits and exposure strategies.
Monitor pricing, margin performance and market movements to maximise profitability.
Analyse trading performance,



customer behaviour and market trends to optimise commercial outcomes.
Collaborate with Product, Data and Compliance teams to improve trading systems, automation and reporting.
Drive continuous improvement across trading operations, governance and risk management.
What you'll bring
4+ years' experience in sportsbook trading, risk management or trading desk operations.
Previous experience leading or mentoring a team of traders or analysts.
Strong understanding of sportsbook risk, liability management, pricing and market dynamics.
Experience using sportsbook trading platforms such as OpenBet, Kambi, Sportradar or similar.
Advanced Excel and SQL skills with the ability to analyse trading performance and identify commercial opportunities.
The ability to make confident, data-driven decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment.
