About the role: An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic staff member to join the new MLHD Chronic Pain Service.
The multidisciplinary team includes staff across medical, nursing, administration, physiotherapy and clinical psychology who will work together to provide high quality evidence-based care of our patients.
The clinic is recent to MLHD and the successful candidate will therefore be helping to pave the way of chronic pain management for the district.
The Physiotherapist position is a two day a week role based at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital with Thursday and Friday as the working days.
Key responsibilities: Clinical Excellence Patient-Centred Care – Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy across all settings, leading multidisciplinary teams to optimise outcomes, ensure timely discharge, and uphold professional and ethical standards including Aboriginal cultural competence.
Documentation, Compliance Quality Improvement – Maintain accurate documentation within KPIs and NSW Health Directives, contributing to service planning, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
Leadership, Supervision Team Culture – Supervise junior staff and students, foster positive workplace culture,



and actively contribute to MLHD Professional Discipline and Allied Health networks.
Professional Development Growth – Advance personal development through ongoing education, evidence-based practice, clinical supervision, and performance reviews to continuously improve service quality.
Our ideal candidate: Qualified Clinically Advanced – Holds a tertiary Physiotherapy qualification with current AHPRA registration and demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice within the chronic pain.
Leader Supervisor – Proven experience in clinical and team leadership, staff and student supervision and the ability to initiate, lead and evaluate quality improvement initiatives and service development.
Communicator Collaborator – Highly developed communication skills including negotiation, advocacy, and decision-making, with the ability to engage constructively across a diverse range of stakeholders via in-person and telehealth delivery.
Organised Mobile – Strong time management, written, verbal and IT skills, with a current Class C drivers licence and willingness to travel and develop policies and procedures that drive service improvement.
