About the role Flagstone Royal Indian Cuisine is seeking an experienced Chef to join our culinary team on a full-time basis in Flagstone, QLD ****.
This is a pivotal position within our kitchen, where you will take responsibility for creating authentic Indian cuisine that delights our guests and upholds the high standards our restaurant is known for.
As Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining food quality, consistency, and presentation whilst leading kitchen operations and contributing to the overall success of our establishment.
Key responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes using traditional techniques and authentic recipes Oversee food preparation, cooking processes and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality Manage inventory of ingredients and ensure efficient stock rotation and storage Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling and sanitation practices Train, supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of meals during service Monitor and control food costs whilst maintaining portion consistency Contribute to menu planning and the development of new dishes that showcase Indian culinary expertise Maintain kitchen equipment in good working order and report maintenance issues promptly Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and restaurant policies What we're looking for Completed qualification of Diploma of Hospitality Management (AQF) or equivalent Completed qualification of Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (AQF) or equivalent Over one year fulltime work experience as a Chef Proven experience as a Chef or Senior Cook, ideally specialising in Indian cuisine In-depth knowledge of Indian cooking methods, spices, ingredients and traditional recipes Robust understanding of food safety,



hygiene standards and relevant food handling regulations Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment whilst maintaining high quality standards Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff Creativity and passion for developing innovative dishes whilst respecting traditional Indian culinary practices Proficiency in kitchen operations, including stock management and cost control Physical stamina and the ability to work standing for extended periods Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required About us Flagstone Royal Indian Cuisine is a distinguished restaurant dedicated to bringing authentic Indian culinary excellence to the Flagstone community.
