About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced
Team Leader
to join Good Shepherd Support Services in Charlestown, NSW. This is a
part-time position
that plays a crucial role in leading and supporting our care delivery teams. As Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality care standards are maintained, and fostering a positive team environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring our clients receive exceptional support whilst maintaining a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within your team.
What you'll be doing
Leading, supervising and supporting care workers and support staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred services
Monitoring and maintaining care standards and compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and organisational policies
Conducting inductions, training and development opportunities for team members to enhance skills and professional growth
Managing rosters, scheduling and resource allocation to ensure effective service coverage
Building positive relationships with clients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly
Collecting and analysing feedback from clients and team members to identify areas for service improvement
Maintaining detailed records and documentation in line with organisational and legal requirements




Acting as a point of contact for escalation of complex issues or concerns
Contributing to team meetings and providing updates on service performance and client wellbeing
Promoting a culture of safeguarding, respect and dignity for all clients and colleagues
What we're looking for
Proven experience working in disability support or community services, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop team members effectively
Strong knowledge of duty of care, safeguarding principles and relevant legislative requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families and colleagues
Competency in managing rosters, budgets and administrative tasks
Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
A valid working with children or vulnerable persons check (or eligibility to obtain)
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise multiple demands
Commitment to person-centred care and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people
Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends where required
Experience with electronic record systems and rostering software is desirable but not essential
