Job Description
WHS/HR Business Partner position available to join our business affiliates in South Australia - Brice and Ferrocut. Southern Steel Group and its subsidiaries specialise in providing the finest steel products, sheet & coil, and expert steel processing and distribution. About the Role
To succeed in this position, you will need to have industry related experience within similar position, a strong work ethic and strong safety focus. WHS / HR Business Partner Be a part of a Leading Steel Industry Outstanding Generalist opportunity Great People Management environment We are looking for an experienced WHS/HR Business Partner to join our team in South Australia.
The successful candidate will be supporting two General Managers and working closely with the national HR/WHS team. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys taking ownership and making a real contribution.
Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting the entire employee lifecycle events and transactions. End to end management of the recruitment and selection process.
Advise and support employees and management with queries related to payroll and HR/IR and ER matters.
Maintain the HRIS database,
general upkeep of employee records and data.
Regularly review and update procedures and policies and organisation charts.
Administrative support to the senior leadership team including minutes at safety committee meetings and operational meetings.
Contribute to monthly Heads of Department meetings, General HR administration.
Handle any Workers Compensation Claims including all return to work programs across all SA business; Provide advice and assistance on all WHS matters and maintenance of our WHS systems.
Requirements
Demonstrate a minimum of three years' experience in WHS/HR.
An excellent communicator for a diverse workplace and dynamic leadership team.
Have a pragmatic, professional approach to matters with strong partnering skills.
Able to coach and guide senior management teams.
An effective multi-tasker who is adaptable to an environment that can change at the drop of a hat.
Experience in a standalone position with exposure to WHS.
A people person, friendly, patient and kind with a great sense of humour.
This is a busy, hands‐on role where no two days are the same! You must be able to multi‐task, have intermediate computer skills and tertiary qualifications in WHS/HR.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a comparable role, preferably in a similar industry.
We promote a safe work culture; therefore we have a process of reference checking and pre‐employment medicals which includes a drug and alcohol screen for the applicant.
Salary: Between $85,000 and $****** per annum
