About the role
We are seeking a Residential Boarding Tutor (Supervisor) to support our boarding program for young men from Years 7 to 12. This live-in role is ideal for someone early in their career and involves supervising boarders during study/prep time, evenings, weekends, mealtimes and activities, while also providing pastoral care and mentoring to support students' wellbeing and development.
Working approximately 15 hours per week during term time, the role includes one weeknight duty and a rostered weekend duty every second weekend, as well as participation in boarding house and school events. In return, the College provides accommodation, meals, internet access, a BBC computer, and access to school facilities.
There is also an expectation that the successful candidate will be an active participant in the Boarding and school extra-curricular/Rec program and activities. (coaching, tutoring, team management, etc). These extra activities (above and beyond your 15 hours) will be financially remunerated.
Key responsibilities
Support Boarding House rules, guidelines and procedures as set out in the Staff Handbook and Boarding House Handbook.
Perform night-time prep duties and weekend supervisions, arrival day supervision, and public holiday supervision.
Be physically present and active around the boarding house, and willing to assist if and where possible (e.g., at mealtimes/emergency situations/functions/events), even when not rostered on.
Support the daily operations of the boarding house under the direction of the Director of Boarding.
Supervise evening study, weekends, and boarding activities as rostered.
Promote student wellbeing, safety, and positive behaviour.
Assist with social, recreational, and community activities.
Maintain accurate records and communicate with staff and parents where required.
