Its operations encompass plant propagation, potting, cultivation, irrigation, pest and disease management, plant maintenance, order preparation and customer service, with a strong commitment to producing healthy, high-quality nursery stock.
Kenthurst Nursery Trading Pty Ltd is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Nursery Hand to support its nursery operations.
The successful candidate will assist with plant propagation, potting, cultivation, irrigation, plant maintenance, order preparation and other general nursery duties, contributing to the efficient production and supply of high-quality nursery stock while maintaining the nursery's high operational standards.
Location: 151A, Kenthurst Rd, Kenthurst, NSW **** Salary: $30 - $38 per hour Employment Type: Full-time, Fixed-term / Non-ongoing Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with the propagation of plants through seeding, cuttings, grafting and division.
Pot, repot and transplant seedlings, shrubs, trees and other nursery stock.
Water plants using manual and automated irrigation systems, ensuring appropriate moisture levels are maintained.
Monitor plant health and assist with identifying and managing pests, diseases and weeds under supervision.
Apply fertilisers, soil conditioners and plant treatments in accordance with workplace procedures.
Prune, trim, stake and maintain plants to promote healthy growth and presentation.
Prepare growing media, potting mixes and planting containers for propagation and production.
Follow biosecurity, environmental and workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
Requirements: A genuine interest in horticulture, plants and nursery production.
Certificate II or III in Horticulture (or a related qualification) is advantageous but not mandatory.
Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high plant quality standards.
Basic knowledge of plant care, propagation, irrigation and pest and disease management is desirable.
Willingness to learn new skills and undertake a variety of nursery duties.
Solid commitment to workplace health and safety (WHS), biosecurity and environmental practices.
Reliable, punctual and able to maintain a positive work ethic.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Current driver's licence and reliable transport are desirable due to the nursery's location.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or peak seasonal periods, if required.
