What You Will Be Working On You will lead the delivery of secondary and protection design across high-voltage infrastructure and renewable energy projects, and take ownership of the quality that goes out the door.
Day to day, you will: Lead concept and detailed secondary and protection design from start to finish.
Provide technical leadership on protection schemes, control systems and AC/DC auxiliary systems.
Guide the team on communications interfaces, SCADA points lists, cable schedules and relay configuration.
Review, check and approve drawings, calculations, settings, specifications and reports before they are issued.
Develop the engineering standards and checking processes that keep work compliant with network standards, client requirements and the National Electricity Rules.
Allocate work across the team to meet utilisation and profit targets,
while keeping the workload fair and balanced.
Coordinate with primary design, grid connection, drafting and other teams to deliver on time and on budget.
Mentor engineers and designers, and help recruit and retain specialist talent.
Support proposals and bids, and represent the business with clients, network service providers, OEMs and industry partners.
What Type of Person Will Be Successful If you have been working as a Senior or Principal Secondary Systems Engineer, Protection Control Engineer or Substation Engineer, and you are ready to lead, we would love to hear from you.
To be successful in this role you will: Hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Bring senior or principal-level experience in secondary systems and protection design for transmission, distribution, renewables or high-voltage substation projects.
Understand protection and control schemes, secondary systems design, Australian network standards and National Electricity Rules obligations.
Communicate clearly and influence others, both in writing and in person.
Balance competing commercial pressures while holding firm on technical standards.
Put safety first, every time — for your people, the community and the workplace.
