AIR**** is a focussed LMA activity that includes implementing advanced web-based technologies for a Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS) – A system that interconnects Defence platforms, systems sensors and effectors across the war fighting domains, land, air, sea, space and cyber.
Working as a Senior Software Engineer in the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) Scrum team, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of software features focussed on integrating mission and mission support elements, including technical ownership of designated software features.
You will drive an industry best practice approach in a microservices based architecture.
You will be responsible for the integration of technical deliverables.
The SEIT team includes AIR**** Architecture, System Design, Cyber, Specialty,



Integration and Test teams, as well as key software and hardware leadership roles.
This team works alongside our Software and Hardware Factory teams to ensure integration and design compliance to needs.
Your responsibilities will include: Working within the SEIT team, you will undertake activities with customers and team to identify, analyse, select and apply concepts.
Responsibilities include: Implementing technologies and techniques that are applicable to the technical development and integration of software products, Actively supporting the agile development of complex technical solutions proposed by yourself and team Subject Matter Experts, including the development of software to support the implementation of iterative and concurrent software integration across environments and platforms, whilst overcoming project technical issues within a large agile-at-scale team environment, Resolving problems identified during the conduct of software development, integration and test of your products, and supporting the development of junior engineering staff.
About you: Extensive knowledge of Software Engineering process,



procedures and the overall engineering product lifecycle Significant experience in software engineering methodologies and techniques preferably in a web-based development domain Substantial software development experience on Linux and Windows platforms Excellent ability to apply experiential judgement and lateral approaches to complex problem solving Desirable Software development and integration experience on Linux platforms Experience with DevSecOps methodologies and toolsets Experience in Go, Typescript, Python, Java, C++, automated test and web development toolsets Agile software development and team leading experience Experience with container technologies and Cloud Orchestration platforms (Kubernetes) Knowledge in the air surveillance domain Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
