Huge leadership opportunity for the right candidate with the right skills Work on major structural steel and construction projects Great leadership team with ongoing support and development About the Role An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Workshop Manager to join a well-established and growing structural business based in South Brisbane.
This company has built a robust reputation for delivering high-quality steel fabrication and construction solutions across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects throughout Australia.
With a strong pipeline of upcoming work and continued business growth, they are looking to strengthen their estimating team with motivated professionals who are passionate about the construction and steel industry You will be responsible for the overall leadership, safety, quality, productivity and delivery performance of the workshop.
You will be working closely with Production Planning, Purchasing, Drafting and QA/QC, HSE, Transport and Project Teams to ensure the workshop is operating across all facets.
Key Responsibilities Lead and Manage all workshop operations to ensure safe, efficient and productive manufacturing activities Maintain and review the production plan to ensure labour, equipment,



and resources are appropriately allocated Monitor Production progress and adjust priorities and resources to maintain delivery commitments Ensure all projects are completed safely and on time within budget Monitor workshop capacity and proactively plan labour, subcontractor, overtime and equipment requirements Promote and maintain a strong safety first culture Ensure compliance with all WHS legislation, company procedures, SWMS, SOPs and site requirements Reduce waste, downtime, rework and unnecessary operations Manage performance, attendance and productivity What You'll Bring 5 years Experience in a Workshop Managers role or similar Demonstrated experience managing workshop operations, production scheduling and workforce performance Practiclal Knowledge of Structural Steel Trade qualification in Boliermaking, Fabrication, Welding or equivalent Diploma or Advanced diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline (DESIRED) Welding Supervisor or Welding Inspection qualifications in accordance with AS **** or AS **** (DESIRED) High Risk Work Licences (Forklift, Dogging, Rigging) (DESIRED) Strong understanding of: AS/NZS ****, AS ****, AS/NZS ISO ****, AS ****, Lean Manufacturing Principles Salary Benefits Salary package up to $110k + Super based on experience Permanent full-time opportunity in South Brisbane Supportive and collaborative team environment Exposure to large-scale structural steel and infrastructure projects Ongoing mentoring, development, and leadership support Apply Now If you think you are suitable for this role.
