With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, fresh ingredients and traditional dishes, Our client is seeking to add a Cook to its kitchen team to support daily food preparation, cooking operations and the delivery of enjoyable dining experiences.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: • Prepare and organise kitchen stations with required ingredients, utensils and cooking equipment.
• Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Operate tandoor, ovens, grills and other cooking equipment at appropriate temperatures.
• Prepare curries, sauces, gravies and accompaniments while maintaining consistent flavour and presentation.
• Examine ingredients and food products to ensure freshness, quality and suitability before preparation.
• Season food during preparation and cooking to achieve consistent taste and authentic Indian flavours.
• Portion and plate meals accurately, adding sauces, gravies and garnishes as required.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene and food safety practices throughout daily operations.
• Store ingredients and prepared food safely within appropriate temperature-controlled facilities.
• Monitor ingredient usage and stock levels to support effective kitchen inventory management.




• Prepare meals efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
• Collaborate with kitchen colleagues to maintain smooth, timely and organised food service operations.
• Prepare suitable meals in accordance with customer allergies, dietary requirements and special requests.
• Assist with training and guiding junior kitchen staff in food preparation and kitchen procedures.
• Support menu planning and estimation of food requirements based on anticipated customer demand.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role: • Relevant commercial cookery qualification or at least three years of demonstrated professional cooking experience in restaurant environments.
• Demonstrated experience preparing and cooking authentic Indian cuisine, including curries, tandoor dishes, sauces and traditional accompaniments.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen station organisation and efficient cooking practices during busy service periods.
• Sound understanding of Australian food safety, hygiene, storage and temperature-control requirements within a commercial kitchen environment.
• Ability to monitor ingredient quality, manage stock levels and minimise wastage while maintaining consistent food quality standards.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with kitchen colleagues and support junior staff in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to maintain consistent presentation and flavour under pressure.
• Ability to accommodate customer dietary requirements and prepare meals safely according to allergies, preferences and special requests.
