APS6 Non-Ongoing, 12-months + extension Located in Canberra, ACT Minimum NV1 Required About the Department The Information Management and Technology Division (IMD) supports the Department's global network through the delivery of secure, reliable ICT services and effective governance, risk and compliance functions.
IMD plays a key role in supporting ICT investment decisions, monitoring performance and compliance, and managing ICT risks, including reporting to senior executive governance forums.
This role sits within the ICT Risk and Governance Section (IGS) in the ICT Compliance and Commercial Branch (ICC).
The department supports flexible working arrangements, including part-time work and job sharing.
About the Role This is an opportunity to lead the day-to-day coordination of the ICT risk function, working closely with stakeholders across IMD and the broader department.
Working under limited direction, you'll maintain the ICT Risk Register, support risk assessment and treatment processes, and coordinate risk reporting and briefing materials for senior governance forums.
You'll translate complex or technical risk issues into explicit, practical advice for a range of stakeholders, including senior executives, while managing competing priorities with sound judgement.
You'll also identify opportunities to improve risk and governance processes and contribute to continuous improvement across IMD.
Key Duties Lead the day-to-day coordination of the IMD ICT risk management function, including maintaining the ICT Risk Register and supporting risk assessment and treatment processes Provide high quality advice to ICT risk control owners on risk identification,



controls, treatments, risk acceptance and assurance evidence Coordinate ICT risk reporting and briefing materials for governance forums, including the IMD Risk Governance Board, IMD Executive and Audit and Risk Committee processes Review and contribute to the continuous improvement of ICT risk and governance frameworks, processes and reporting artefacts Analyse ICT risk trends, emerging issues and control effectiveness to inform executive decision-making Track risk treatments, actions and commitments, following up with stakeholders and escalating issues where required Support compliance with relevant legislation, policies and frameworks, including the PGPA Act, PSPF, ISM and other whole-of-government requirements Build and maintain productive relationships across ICT, cyber security and business areas, promoting early engagement and a positive, risk-aware culture Essential Attributes / Skills / Experience Demonstrated experience in risk management, governance or assurance, with the ability to confidently coordinate ICT risk activities in a complex government environment Solid analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex or technical risk issues into explicit, practical advice Comfortable working with senior executives,
