Core services include obedience and behavioural training, rider acceptance, competition conditioning, and comprehensive daily horse care.

About the Position The Horse Trainer plays a vital role in Jason Deamer's operations, responsible for the hands-on training, conditioning, and daily management of horses to ensure they meet performance, behavioural, and welfare standards.
This full-time position contributes directly to the business's success by preparing horses for competitions and general use while maintaining high standards of care and reporting progress to support ongoing training decisions.
(No race course rider duties or vehicle pulling included.)
Key Responsibilities Teaching horses to obey verbal and non-verbal commands and addressing behavioural problems.




Training horses to accept riders.
Training and conditioning horses to perform in competitions.
Reporting to trainers on horses' progress and performance.
Bathing, grooming, and maintaining horse coats, clipping hooves where required, and cleaning ears.
Inspecting, preparing, cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining comfortable stables and enclosures.
Transporting food, filling water troughs and feeding horses according to their individual needs.
Maintaining horse health records, treating minor injuries and reporting serious conditions to Veterinarians.
Exercising horses and playing with them as appropriate, answering visitor questions, and transferring horses between enclosures safely.
Dusting and spraying insecticides on horses and applying appropriate treatments to control insect pests.
Requirements Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Certificate III in Horse Care or equivalent qualifications.
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Strong technical skills in horse training, handling, and conditioning, along with excellent observational skills for monitoring health and behaviour.
Positive interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a small team and interact professionally with stakeholders.
