Position: Cook Position Type : Full time Salary: $79,000 to $82,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Mareeba QLD **** Our client is seeking an experienced Cook to join their team in Mareeba, Far North Queensland.
The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of high-quality meals within the Club's commercial kitchen, ensuring food is prepared and presented in accordance with established recipes, food safety standards and the Club's operational requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Inspect food supplies and ingredients to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for preparation.
Prepare, cook and present a wide variety of meals in accordance with menu specifications and established quality standards.
Operate and monitor commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking appliances, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Monitor cooking processes and adjust temperatures, cooking times and seasoning to produce consistent, high-quality meals.
Portion, garnish and present meals to ensure consistency, quality and customer satisfaction.
Prepare meals to accommodate dietary requirements, including allergy-sensitive, vegetarian, vegan and cultural or religious preferences.
Receive, store and rotate food stock using appropriate stock control and food safety procedures.
Maintain compliance with HACCP principles, food safety legislation and workplace hygiene requirements.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, utensils, storage areas and workstations.
Contribute to menu planning,



food costing, stock estimation and ordering requirements in consultation with the Head Chef and management.
Prepare and deliver meals for functions, events and special promotions in accordance with operational requirements.
Report equipment faults, maintenance issues and food safety concerns promptly to management.
Maintain an organised, efficient and safe commercial kitchen environment.
Perform other reasonable duties within the scope of the position as directed by management Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
Comply with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and safe work practices.
Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
Maintain qualified, courteous and respectful relationships with colleagues, members, guests and suppliers.
Comply with the company policies, procedures and operational standards.
Report workplace hazards, incidents and equipment faults promptly.
Comply with all applicable food safety legislation, workplace policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain effective communication with management and other team members.
Requirements: Certificate III or higher qualification in a relevant hospitality field Current Food Safety Certificate Minimum one (1) year of experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen environment Previous experience preparing and cooking meals in a leagues club, club, pub or other high volume hospitality venue is preferred Must be available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster.
