Purpose of the role The purpose of this role is to support older people to enjoy meaningful experiences outside the home by providing companionship, confidence, and a friendly presence during outings.
Outing Companion Volunteers help older people stay connected to their community, enjoy moments of joy, and feel valued and supported.
Key responsibilities Accompany older people on planned outings and ensure they feel safe, supported and confident while travelling outside the home Provide friendly conversation and social engagement during trips helping to reduce loneliness and end enhancing residents' sense of connection and enjoyment Offer practical, non-clinical assistance such as guiding older people to and from vehicle, promoting comfort and independence Personal skills and qualities Reliability,
