Consultive is partnering with a well-backed civil contractor delivering a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects across Melbourne's south east.
The business operates across drainage, roadworks, early works and utility infrastructure within a hands-on, self-performing delivery model.
This role sits within a dedicated Indigenous division of the business, focused on delivering civil works while supporting meaningful employment pathways, workforce participation and positive outcomes within the communities they work in.
As a result, this role requires someone who can not only deliver projects, but who is comfortable operating within a culturally aware environment and engaging respectfully with diverse teams and community-focused initiatives.
You will play a key role in both project delivery and team leadership, with the opportunity to influence how work is carried out and contribute to the ongoing growth and direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities: • Lead planning and delivery of civil construction packages including drainage, pipelines, roadworks and bulk earthworks • Manage commercial performance across projects, including cost control, forecasting and variations • Coordinate subcontractors, plant and internal crews within a self-performing environment • Oversee program sequencing across early works,



site establishment and core delivery stages • Work closely with clients, consultants and stakeholders to ensure alignment and outcomes • Support and mentor Project Engineers and site teams • Work within and contribute to an Indigenous-focused delivery environment, supporting an inclusive and respectful site culture • Identify and implement improvements across project systems and delivery processes • Contribute to overall operational performance and team capability About You: • Experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within civil construction • Strong background delivering infrastructure such as drainage, pipelines, roadworks, earthworks or subdivision-related works • Demonstrated commercial awareness, including cost management and variations • Proven ability to lead, mentor or influence teams in a site-based environment • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills • Comfortable working in environments that are evolving or less structured • A genuine interest in contributing to an Indigenous-focused business environment and supporting workforce and community outcomes • Awareness of, or openness to learning about, working with Indigenous teams and communities in a respectful and culturally appropriate way • Motivated by long-term career growth and stepping into greater leadership responsibility Why Apply?
