For Yard Mechanic, Machinery Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of construction plant and equipment for a well established construction machinery and equipment provider.
A permanent full time role within a hands-on, practical yard-based environment in the south-western suburbs of Western Australia.
About the Yard Mechanic role Requires: Basic mechanical experience and practical maintenance skills.
Salary guide: $45-$50 hourly rate with overtime penalties.
Sometimes need to work on Saturday.
Location: South-western suburbs of Western Australia.
What the Yard Mechanic will do each day Basic servicing and upkeep of machinery and attachments Identifying wear, faults and maintenance issues before breakdowns occur Carrying out minor repairs and general mechanical duties in the yard Liaising with operators and management about machine condition and priorities Keeping equipment protected, serviceable and ready for site use Assisting with maintenance scheduling, consumables and workshop/yard organisation as the function develops Why this Yard Mechanic role stands out?

What you need to succeed as a Yard Mechanic Basic mechanic background, ideally with experience on machinery, plant, trucks or earthmoving equipment Able to perform routine servicing, greasing, checks, minor repairs and preventative maintenance Comfortable working in a practical yard environment without a fully established workshop Ability to troubleshoot common mechanical issues and escalate bigger repairs when required White Card and current driver's licence preferred Forklift, HR or plant tickets would be advantageous Reliable, hands-on and able to work with minimal supervision Job benefits for Yard Mechanic include Permanent full-time position with stable workload.
