Opportunity to influence organisation-wide health and wellbeing strategies Brisbane location (Hybrid role)5-month contract We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Advisor – Health Wellbeing to join a State Government organisation, leading enterprise-wide health initiatives that support employee wellbeing, safety, and organisational performance.
5-month contract Brisbane CBD Location (Hybrid) Opportunity to influence organisation-wide health and wellbeing strategies Meaningful work that contributes to the health, safety and wellbeing of a large workforce About the Role This is a strategic and hands-on role where you'll partner with stakeholders across the business to develop practical solutions, manage specialist programs, and drive best practice in workplace health and wellbeing.
Reporting into a collaborative Health, Safety and Wellbeing team, you will provide expert advice and lead the delivery of key health and wellbeing programs across the organisation.
You'll work closely with operational leaders, procurement, external providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure legislative compliance while fostering a healthy, safe, and supportive workplace.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate workplace health monitoring and surveillance programs Manage health surveillance initiatives, including hazardous exposure programs (e.g. silica, lead, asbestos and noise) Oversee workplace drug and alcohol testing programs, medical review processes, and fit-for-work initiatives Identify and manage psychosocial risks,



supporting the development of effective control measures Provide expert advice on workplace health, wellbeing, and complex health-related matters Coordinate contractor relationships and wellbeing service providers Deliver health and wellbeing training and awareness initiatives Develop policies, procedures, and supporting documentation to improve organisational capability Partner with operational teams to deliver practical, business-wide health and safety solutions About You To be successful in this role, you will bring: 5+ years' experience in workplace health, wellbeing, occupational hygiene, WHS, or a related field Proven experience developing organisation-wide health and wellbeing programs, policies, and frameworks Robust technical knowledge of workplace health monitoring, hazardous exposures, and risk management Experience providing strategic advice and solving complex health and safety challenges Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organisation Experience managing contracts, external providers, and multidisciplinary projects Outstanding written communication skills,



including policy and procedural documentation Highly Regarded Experience Experience working within industries such as:Construction, Civil infrastructure, Utilities, Heavy industry or other operational environments Experience managing health risks associated with hazardous exposures, including silica, asbestos, lead and occupational noise , will be highly regarded.
