QA Engineer (Quality Assurance Engineer) – Job Description Role Overview A QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring that software ff products meet quality standards before release.
They design and execute tests, identify bugs, and work closely with developers to improve product reliability and user experience.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing Develop and maintain test automation frameworks (if applicable) Analyze test results and prepare test reports and metrics Ensure software meets business requirements and quality standards Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) Continuously improve QA processes and testing strategies Required Skills Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies Experience with manual testing and/or automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress,



Playwright) Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured) Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) Robust analytical and problem-solving skills Good communication and teamwork abilities Preferred Qualifications Experience in test automation frameworks development Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience in Agile/Scrum environments ISTQB or other QA certifications (optional but beneficial) Key Tools (Commonly Used) Test Management: TestRail, Zephyr Bug Tracking: JIRA Automation: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright API Testing: Postman CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI Soft Skills Attention to detail Critical thinking Strong communication Time management Curiosity and continuous learning mindset Career Path QA Engineer → Senior QA Engineer → QA Lead → QA Manager / SDET / Automation Architect
