IT Telecomms Testing QA Sydney Contract or Temp The role is for a Test Manager to lead the quality assurance and testing stream for a multi-year, mission-critical Data migration program.
This program involves merging legacy platforms, consolidating systems, and executing complex, enterprise-scale data migrations.
This is not a purely administrative or high-level governance role.
Because this program is starting without an existing migration test strategy or execution blueprint of this magnitude, we require a hands-on Test Manager who can build the strategy from scratch, set up the framework, and directly drive execution alongside the delivery teams.
With the initial major migration launch scheduled for mid **** and a continuous roadmap of subsequent system merges, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring data integrity, system stability, and seamless operational cutovers.
Key Responsibilities Strategy Execution Build Strategy from scratch: Design, document, and implement an end-to-end Data Migration Test Strategy covering source-to-target reconciliation, data integrity, ETL validation, regression, performance, and cutover dry runs.
Hands-On Leadership: Actively participate in test case creation, execution monitoring, defect triage, data staging, and root-cause analysis when technical challenges arise.
Dev Test Alignment: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to define and align the Development Testing Strategy, ensuring robust environment management, mock data generation, and continuous feedback loops.
Governance, Tools Process OpenText ALM Management: Own and structure the OpenText Quality Center / ALM setting for requirement traceability, test execution tracking,



defect management, and reporting.
Reporting Metrics: Provide clear, actionable quality metrics and release readiness dashboards directly to executive leadership, including the CTO and Program Director.
Post-Launch Roadmap: Establish scalable, repeatable testing frameworks to support ongoing system consolidations and migrations following the initial May launch.
Stakeholder Management Leadership Drive Consensus: Act as a decisive leadership presence across business, architecture, engineering, and vendor teams to align differing opinions and maintain delivery momentum.
Adaptability Resilience: Swiftly adjust testing approaches to changing project scopes, architectural pivots, and aggressive banking timelines.
Required Skills Experience Core Banking Data Migration Expertise: Proven track record leading large-scale data migration and system integration/merge testing within a retail, commercial, or enterprise banking environment.
Hands-On Test Management: Demonstrated ability to act as both strategic lead and individual contributor—comfortable diving into complex datasets, SQL queries, or tool configurations when needed.
Tool Mastery: Deep, practical expertise using OpenText ALM (Quality Center) for lifecycle management and test governance.
Strong Leadership Presence: Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to challenge assumptions, resolve technical disagreements, and drive consensus among senior stakeholders.
Regulatory Security Standards: Strong understanding of Australian banking standards, data privacy requirements, and risk management frameworks.
