About the Role
The HOPE Program has been developed to provide assertive integrated community-based aftercare for consumers experiencing a suicidal crisis. Under the general direction of Clinicians, Wellbeing Support Workers will work collaboratively with consumers and their carers to address their identified areas of psychosocial need. This will include liaising on behalf of, and assisting consumers to access a broad range of community supports; human services; Government agencies; and consult with existing supports.
Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH) is seeking a energetic and motivated Wellbeing Support Worker for this position within the Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Services.
Full time position, however part time applications will be considered for the right candidate

Paid as per MH Officer under Vic Public Mental Health EBA, level as per relevant qualification or experience

About You
To be successful in this role, you will hold a Diploma level qualification in a relevant field including, but not limited to:
Alcohol & Other Drugs; Community Services; Disability; Mental Health; Nursing; Youth Work or similar and/or at least two years' experience working with consumers in the provision of psychosocial support. You will also have:
Demonstrated understanding of
psychosocial risk factors
associated with suicidality, with awareness of how a person's mental health and social environment—such as relationships, support networks, and life circumstances can affect their risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviours;
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with consumers, carers and families from diverse cultural and social backgrounds in a professional; impartial; ethical; and respectful manner;
Highly developed interpersonal; communication and problem-solving skills including the ability to liaise with and advocate on behalf of consumers across a broad range of services;
