About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional food safety and kitchen management standards.
Key Requirements Ideal candidates will possess: Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong skills in food preparation, seasoning, and cooking, including accommodating dietary requirements Previous experience in a similar role and/or relevant culinary qualifications Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and food handling practices Robust organizational skills and keen attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork skills Experience with ordering, rostering, stock control, and waste minimisation Expertise in preparing, cooking, serving, and storing hot and cold food Valid Australian work rights Responsibilities1.
Food Preparation Cooking Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals in accordance with menu standards Develop and test new menu items in collaboration with management Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained
2. Kitchen Management Operations Maintain a clean, organised,
and efficient kitchen in line with food safety regulations Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste Ensure safe operation and handling of kitchen equipment
3. Compliance Food Safety Follow all food safety, hygiene, and food handling regulations in accordance with Australian food standards Ensure ingredients are stored at appropriate temperatures and according to safety requirements Maintain accurate food safety and compliance records
4. Team Leadership Collaboration Train and support kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and quality standards Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
5. Workplace Health Safety Comply with workplace health and safety policies and procedures Identify and report hazards and safety risks in the kitchen Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free working environment
6. Flexibility Adaptability Adapt to changing menus, dietary requirements, and customer preferences Be available to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays as required
7. Customer Service Ensure dishes are served promptly and meet customer expectations Handle special requests and dietary requirements professionally Respond constructively to customer feedback regarding food quality and presentation
