Our client needs a Senior Finance Manager who can start immediately.
This is a six-month fixed-term contract covering the full financial accounting, group reporting, treasury and tax remit, with a hybrid mode that splits time between a Sydney office and home.
About our client We are supporting a market-leading, PE-backed business as it prepares for a formal sale process, with the private equity sponsor now moving to exit.
As a result there has been some internal secondments that have created the need for a Senior Finance Manager to join on a contract basis.
The role Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working alongside the Group Finance Manager, you will lead month-end close and reporting, monthly board reporting, and the Group's regulatory and tax compliance obligations.
Two accountants report to you, a Senior Financial Accountant and an Assistant Accountant, and you will partner with the offshore Centre of Excellence on reporting quality and issue resolution.
The role carries a clear mandate to improve how finance operates, so there is scope to leave the processes and controls in better shape than you found them.
What you will be responsible for Leading month-end close and reporting, covering journals, accruals, provisions, reconciliations and financial review, then preparing monthly board reporting with the analysis, commentary and supporting schedules that go with it Managing accounting and reporting for capital and strategic projects, including capitalisation assessments, project tracking, stakeholder engagement and policy compliance Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, subsidiary reporting and financial results for accuracy, completeness and compliance with group reporting standards Overseeing banking, treasury and loan compliance, including banking platforms, user access, KYC documentation and authorised signatories,
plus monthly and quarterly covenant reporting with special purpose financial statements and covenant calculations Meeting statutory and regulatory obligations across BAS, PTRS, payroll tax, FBT and income tax, working with internal stakeholders and tax consultants on R D and income tax returns, and supporting the external audit process Maintaining accounting policies, procedures and systems in line with AASBs and internal controls, and driving continuous improvement across finance processes and controls What you will bring CA or CPA qualified, with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field Strong technical accounting knowledge, including application of accounting standards and reporting requirements, and proven command of month-end close, financial reporting and governance processes Proven experience leading, coaching and developing finance team members Stakeholder management and communication skills, including presenting financial information clearly to senior audiences and engaging confidently with branches, operations teams and divisional leaders Advanced Excel skills; Microsoft Dynamics 365 or another large ERP is advantageous; full working rights in Australia required Career paths into this work vary.
