About the Role Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will lead the strategic direction, performance and reputation of CSQ while ensuring the organisation continues to deliver meaningful outcomes for industry, government and the Queensland community.
Working closely with the Board and Executive Leadership Team, you will drive the next phase of CSQ's strategy, oversee organisational performance and steward significant industry investment to maximise value for Queensland's construction workforce.
You will balance strong governance and commercial discipline with a collaborative, externally focused leadership style.
Success in the role will require you to: Develop and execute strategy that positions CSQ for long-term success.
Build trusted relationships with Ministers, senior government leaders, industry bodies, employers, unions, training providers and key stakeholders.
Influence workforce policy and contribute to the state's response to critical skills and labour market challenges.
Lead a high-performing executive team while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
Ensure sound governance, financial stewardship and effective management of industry investment.
Represent CSQ as a respected and credible voice across industry forums, government and the broader community.
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strategic judgement, political acumen and the ability to bring diverse stakeholders together around shared outcomes.
About You You are an accomplished executive with experience leading complex organisations where strategy, stakeholder influence and public value intersect.
You will bring: A successful track record leading organisational strategy, transformation and sustainable business performance.
Strong commercial, financial and governance capability,
with experience working closely with Boards.
A sophisticated understanding of government, public policy and highly regulated operating environments.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and an established ability to influence senior leaders across government, industry and the private sector.
Experience building collaborative partnerships that deliver practical outcomes across multiple stakeholder groups.
Strong leadership credentials with a demonstrated ability to build high-performing executive teams and positive organisational cultures.
An understanding of workforce development, skills, vocational education or the building and construction sector will be highly regarded, although candidates with transferable experience from related industries are encouraged to apply.
