We are seeking a full-time Nurse Unit Manager to provide strong leadership, clinical oversight, and operational management of the unit, while maintaining active hands-on patient care.
The role is focused on delivering best-practice, high-quality health outcomes for patients and contributing to effective clinical governance and service delivery.
As Nurse Unit Manager, you will engage, motivate, and mentor your team, while building and sustaining strong relationships with patients and key stakeholders.
A commitment to excellence in mental health care, combined with strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment, will be essential for success in this role.
Role Requirements: Provide accountable clinical and professional leadership to ensure secure, effective, and high-quality care aligned with national standards, professional guidelines, and organisational policies.
Contribute to organisational and departmental planning through active involvement in strategic, business, and service development, evaluation, and improvement initiatives.
Oversee patient care coordination including admissions, treatment programs, discharge planning, and referrals to outpatient and community follow-up services.
Lead daily clinical operations, ensuring best-practice care delivery, appropriate staff allocation, effective handover, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Promote quality, safety, and evidence-based practice through auditing, risk management, incident investigation, and compliance with documentation and reporting requirements.
Foster effective communication and strong skilled relationships with medical, nursing, allied health, management, and support staff to promote a positive workplace culture.
Manage workforce leadership functions including recruitment, orientation, rostering, leave management, performance review, staff development, mentoring,



and wellbeing support.
Demonstrate ethical practice, adaptability, ongoing professional development, and leadership in organisational change and innovation.
Professional Qualifications: Clinical expertise and qualifications in mental health nursing and at least two years experience at managerial level.
Administrative and clinical experience at managerial level.
Holds or working toward a Degree in Health Administration or equivalent Advanced Nursing in Mental Health.
Renumeration: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and as per the relevant Delmont EA.
