This major infrastructure package includes: Six brand-new metro stations from St Marys to the new Aerotropolis 12 new metro trains and core rail systems A state-of-the-art maintenance and stabling facility at Orchard Hills As part of the Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild consortium, we're delivering a city-shaping project that will define the future of transport in NSW.
The Opportunity - Commercial Manager We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to take responsibility and manage a small team providing coaching and direction to ensure that the relevant staff improve their understanding of contractual requirements and commercial strategies; and monitoring to improve adherence to internal and contractual expectations.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will play a critical role in the financial and commercial success of this multi-billion-dollar infrastructure project.
This role requires exceptional commercial acumen, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to manage complex contractual negotiations while ensuring compliance, governance, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities Lead the negotiation of subcontract and supplier agreements.
Support the drafting of internal and external agreement templates such as Subcontracts, Supply Agreements, Hire Agreements etc.
Support in the effective handover of the commercial aspects of all secured work to the Client or their delegated entities in a manner that ensures the projects contractual rights and obligations are fully understood and completed, both for head contracts and subcontracts in accordance with the Business and Industry Standards.
Contract management and project outcomes through program management, cost management, reporting and contract validations (disputes, extensions, performance and resolution).
Coaching' to ensure that the relevant staff improve their understanding of contractual requirements and commercial strategies; and monitoring to improve adherence to internal and contractual expectations.
Provide guidance and direction to the team on the delivery of contract and project work portfolios through multiple contractors, including decisions on scoping, allocations of work, contract management, project management, strategy negotiations, dispute resolution and performance management.
Establish and manage key stakeholder relationships to enable the effective delivery of project work and contract services.
What We're Looking For A tertiary / post-graduate qualification in Commercial / Contract Management or related discipline (e.g., finance, contract law, etc.) is preferred Minimum 10 years' experience in construction/commercial management ,
with at least five years in major infrastructure projects or PPP environments Proven success in subcontractor and joint venture management , including large-scale commercial negotiations Strong commercial acumen with expertise in risk management, claims resolution, and contract governance Experience working in collaborative, relationship-driven project environments Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop commercial teams Why Join Us?
