The outlet operates within a busy Sydney dining and entertainment precinct and provides quick-service food through in-store, takeaway, online-ordering and delivery channels.
The Retail Manager will lead and supervise a diverse team of kitchen, counter-service and shift employees.
The role requires a hands-on management approach and regular interaction with employees, customers, suppliers, delivery partners and senior management.
The successful candidate must be capable of maintaining effective operations and high service standards during busy periods while managing staffing, stock, sales, costs and regulatory compliance.
The Retail Manager will be responsible for organising and controlling the operations of the UME Burger quick-service restaurant.
Key duties include: Organising and controlling the daily operations of the UME Burger outlet.
Determining the product mix, stock levels and customer-service standards based on sales performance, customer demand and operational requirements.
Monitoring customer demand, sales trends and product performance and recommending appropriate changes to the product range.
Formulating and implementing purchasing procedures and liaising with suppliers regarding product quality, availability, delivery and pricing.
Assisting in determining retail prices by considering product costs, operating expenses, market conditions and profitability targets.
Developing and implementing local marketing, promotional and advertising activities to increase sales and customer engagement.
Promoting and selling the business's products and services and ensuring customers receive accurate information regarding menu items, ingredients and available options.
Maintaining accurate records of stock levels, purchases, sales, wastage, expenses and financial transactions.
Preparing and monitoring operational budgets covering revenue, labour expenses, stock purchases and other business costs.
Reviewing sales, food costs, labour expenses and profitability and implementing appropriate cost-control measures.
Managing stock ordering, receiving, storage and inventory-control procedures to maintain adequate stock levels and minimise wastage.
Recruiting, selecting, inducting, rostering, training, supervising and supporting kitchen,
counter-service and shift employees.
Allocating duties, establishing performance expectations and monitoring and evaluating employee performance.
Providing employees with ongoing coaching, feedback and training to maintain operational and customer-service standards.
Establishing and monitoring service standards to ensure customers receive prompt, professional and consistent service.
Responding to customer enquiries, feedback and complaints and implementing appropriate resolutions.
Ensuring consistent product quality, portioning, presentation, pricing, promotions and customer delivery.
Coordinating the outlet's products, prices, promotions and service standards across in-store, takeaway, online ordering and third-party delivery channels.
Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety, food-safety, hygiene, sanitation and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency, customer service and profitability.
Overseeing cash handling, daily reconciliations, point-of-sale operations and opening and closing procedures.
Overseeing the use and maintenance of restaurant facilities, commercial equipment and point-of-sale systems.
Preparing operational, staffing, stock, sales and financial reports for senior management.
Working closely with senior management to achieve the business's sales, profitability, customer-service and operational objectives.
Leading by example and promoting a positive, respectful, productive and customer-focused workplace culture.
Essential requirements: An AQF Diploma or higher qualification in Business Management, Retail Management, Hospitality Management or a related discipline.
A minimum of two years of relevant managerial or supervisory experience in a fast-food, quick-service, takeaway, hospitality or retail establishment.
Demonstrated experience managing the daily operations of a busy retail or quick-service food outlet.
Experience in determining product offerings, maintaining stock levels and establishing customer-service standards.
Demonstrated experience in stock control, purchasing, retail pricing and supplier management.
Experience preparing and monitoring operational budgets, revenue, expenses and financial transactions.
Proven experience recruiting, rostering, training, supervising and evaluating employees.
Experience developing and implementing marketing, advertising and promotional activities.
Ability to maintain consistent product, pricing, promotional and service standards across in-store and online sales channels.
Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety, food safety, hygiene and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, customer-service and complaint-resolution skills.
Solid organisational, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Competence in using point-of-sale, rostering, inventory-control, online-ordering and business-reporting systems.
Ability to work effectively in a busy, high-volume and fast-paced quick-service restaurant.
Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
