About the Position: The Pharmacist plays a central role in the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care at North Buderim Pharmacy.
This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week.
Working as part of a professional team, the successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medicines, providing clinical advice, supporting vaccination and other pharmacy services, and mentoring junior staff to ensure high standards of patient safety and service quality.
Key Responsibilities: Dispensary Duties Receive and assess prescriptions by reviewing patients' medication histories, confirming appropriate dosages and administration methods, and identifying potential drug interactions prior to dispensing.
Prepare, or oversee the preparation and accurate labelling of, prescription medicines, including tablets, liquids, powders, ointments and other pharmaceutical products.
Provide advice to prescribing practitioners regarding contraindications, potential adverse interactions and the appropriate use of medications.
Monitor and evaluate individual patients' medication regimens to assess therapeutic outcomes and optimise treatment effectiveness.
Dispense prescription medicines in accordance with relevant legislation, therapeutic optimisation principles and clinical guidelines.




Maintain qualified and ethical relations with customers.
Liaise with other healthcare professionals.
Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with all staff members.
Maintain reasonable levels of dispensary stock, monitor expiry dates and store medicines in accordance with applicable legislation and pharmacy procedures.
Maintain accurate prescription records and ensure the proper documentation and control of narcotics, poisons and other regulated medications in accordance with legislative requirements.
Claim PBS items and resolve claiming issues.
Dose Administration Aids Supervise the preparation of dose administration aids in accordance with pharmacy procedures, including managing medication changes and liaising with other healthcare professionals.
Check prepared packs and maintain appropriate records of packing and checking.
Vaccinations Maintain updated knowledge of vaccines and vaccination programs.
Perform vaccinations in accordance with relevant legislation and pharmacy policies and procedures.
Other Tasks Provide advice and over-the-counter medicines to patients in relation to their conditions and treatments.
Perform pharmacy services in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines, including Staged Supply, MedsCheck and disease state management.
Supervise, guide and train pharmacy interns, technicians and sales assistants.
Requirements: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Relevant bachelor's degree.
Minimum 1 year work experience as a registered pharmacist.
Current registration as a Pharmacist with a valid licence to practise in Australia.
Vaccination Certificate.
Current first aid and CPR certificate.
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
Commitment to high-quality pharmaceutical care and patient safety.
Proficient knowledge of pharmacy software and technology.
