Job description Design Manager - Transport Highways Brisbane | Tier 1 Engineering Consultancy Are you an experienced Design Manager or Senior Civil Design Leader looking to take ownership of major transport infrastructure projects across Queensland?
Titan Recruitment is partnering with a leading Tier 1 engineering consultancy to appoint a Design Manager within their growing Transport Highways team.
This is an prospect to lead multidisciplinary design delivery on some of Queensland's largest road infrastructure projects, working alongside highly respected technical specialists in a collaborative national business.
With a strong pipeline of projects for the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), local government and major infrastructure clients, this role offers genuine technical leadership, project ownership and long-term career development.
The Opportunity: As Design Manager, you will provide technical and project leadership across the design lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, compliant and innovative engineering outcomes on complex transport infrastructure projects.
You will lead multidisciplinary design teams while maintaining strong client relationships and driving collaboration across engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of highways, arterial roads and major intersection design projects.
Manage multidisciplinary design teams throughout planning, concept and detailed design phases.
Oversee geometric road design using 12d and ensure compliance with TMR RPDM, Austroads and relevant Australian Standards.
Coordinate key design interfaces including: Horizontal and vertical geometry Corridor modelling and cross sections Superelevation Drainage coordination Utilities and multidisciplinary interfaces Provide technical leadership and quality assurance across project deliverables.
Mentor designers and engineers, supporting capability development across the team.
Engage directly with major government and infrastructure clients.




Drive innovation through digital engineering, design automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You: You are an experienced transport infrastructure professional who enjoys leading teams while remaining technically involved in complex engineering design.
You are a team player who is driven by measurable outcomes and client first approach to delivering projects.
You will ideally possess: 8+ years' experience delivering transport or highways infrastructure projects.
Strong experience managing or leading multidisciplinary design teams.
Advanced capability in 12d and AutoCAD.
Experience with 12d Drainage highly regarded.
Exposure to Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer and/or MicroStation is advantageous.
Associate Degree or Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Demonstrated experience delivering projects for TMR, TfNSW, VicRoads or major local government clients.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring and developing others.
