Role Overview:
The role is focused on developing and maintaining enterprise risk management frameworks, developing and providing assurance oversight with responsibility for the group insurance program.
The role involves building risk management culture, maintaining organizational risk registers, conducting assurance reviews, managing business continuity planning, and coordinating insurance renewals. The ideal candidate needs experience in risk/assurance functions and the ability to work with and influence senior stakeholders across a technology/software development company.
This position will be based in our Sydney office. The candidate is required to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week but may voluntarily elect to work either remotely or from the Sydney office for the remaining days of the week.
Key Responsibilities
Embed and enhance a culture of risk management.
Further develop the Enterprise risk management framework. Provide awareness and education of the framework to all staff
Analyse the setting, discover, assess and supervise risks assist in developing controls and mitigation plans, and oversee their implementation
Work with the business to maintain an organizational risk register of identified risks, their current status and prioritize remediation and provide regular updates/reports for relevant stakeholders.




Develop and maintain a strong rapport with relevant Business and Functional leaders and teams to facilitate two-way interaction in relation to risk, governance and compliance.
Conduct appropriate analysis on root causes and trends and assist the business identify control improvements.
Undertake systematic challenge, review and validation of the effectiveness of controls in place for the business team's management of risk, including recommending improvements where warranted. Coordinate second line risk reporting covering insights and risk indicators for various committees.
Own the Business Continuity Management efforts and maintenance of Key Risk Indicators for the functional teams and contribute to the risk and compliance awareness activities.
Provide Risk Management Input to key business initiatives and committees e.g. AI Governance, WHS, Cyber and Privacy
Provide support to the operations and the business in key risk areas.
Privacy & Compliance
Set standards and review policies and procedures globally to ensure Nuix meets the requirements under applicable laws and any localization requirements in countries of operation.
Liaise closely with the legal compliance program and data privacy requirements.
Assurance
Develop and maintain an assurance framework for key risk and compliance programs.
Conduct specific risk and compliance assurance reviews
Insurance
Coordinate the annual insurance renewal process including collection of data and completion of various documentation.
Liaise with the insurance broker to address one-off business requirements e.g. certificates of currency, one-off insurance requirements
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Experience within a compliance, legal, audit and/or risk function,



with recent experience in privacy compliance, with a preference for experience with software development company or companies.
Comprehensive risk management experience
Sufficient knowledge of information technology and data management systems
Strong change and project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritise effectively, handle multiple deadlines and deliver projects.
Track record of driving efficient and effective operational processes.
Detail-oriented approach needed to recommend and implement strategic improvements on a range of compliance and risk issues.
Experience in developing policy and compliance training.
Knowledge of Australian, USA, and EU data privacy and data protection regulation, and a valuable understanding of other major privacy frameworks and evolving legislation worldwide.
Skills and Characteristics
Experience within a risk function ideally including assurance with a preference for experience in technology and/or software development
Experience in the development of 3 lines of defence models
Knowledge relating to companywide insurance programs.
Someone who is not afraid of rolling up their sleeves to build and showcase their function.
Effective at influencing across the organization including senior business leaders
Strong ownership, initiative and ability to work independently.
Proven ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment and across multiple time-zones.
Ability to influence, negotiate, guide, and work with cross-functional teams to achieve joint objectives.
Demonstrated problem solving ability and attention to detail to deliver high quality output.
Strong analytical capability and demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of detailed information.
