We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team.

The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining our high culinary standards while contributing to menu development and the efficient operation of the kitchen.
Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, develop, cost, and update menus, considering seasonal produce, customer preferences, and business requirements.
Prepare, cook, season, and present a variety of café-style breakfast, brunch, lunch, and seasonal menu items to a high standard.
Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food to ensure efficient kitchen operations and consistent food quality.
Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff,
allocating duties and ensuring compliance with recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, kitchen procedures, and food safety practices.
Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, hygiene regulations, and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.
Monitor stock levels, order food supplies, liaise with suppliers, and control food costs while minimising waste.
Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.
Develop new recipes and contribute to menu innovation to enhance the café's food offerings.
Resolve day-to-day kitchen operational issues to ensure efficient service during busy trading periods.
Perform other duties consistent with the role of Chef.
Skills and Qualifications: Minimum one (1) year of experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen or café environment.
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a higher qualification in Commercial Cookery, Culinary Arts, or Kitchen Management.
Strong knowledge of food safety legislation, food hygiene practices, and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and support kitchen staff in a professional kitchen environment.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment.
Strong culinary skills with attention to detail in food preparation, presentation, and quality control.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate efficiently with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
Ability to maintain high standards of consistency, quality, and productivity while managing multiple tasks under pressure.
