The Appointment An chance now exists for an experienced Senior Health Hygiene Coordinator to join the Health and Safety team.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, this role will play a key part in supporting workforce health, injury management, occupational hygiene and health risk management across the operation.
This is a hands-on and influential role suited to someone who enjoys combining technical health and hygiene expertise with genuine care for people, proactive problem solving and robust stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities will include: Supporting the health, wellbeing and safety of employees through proactive engagement and practical health initiatives Leading injury management, return-to-work programs and workers compensation processes Developing and implementing strategies focused on injury prevention, fitness for work and overall workforce wellbeing Conducting occupational hygiene monitoring, sampling and exposure assessments Reviewing and analysing health and hygiene data to support risk-based decision making Developing and maintaining Health and Hygiene Management Plans and Health Risk Assessments Identifying occupational health risks and supporting the implementation of effective controls Managing compliance requirements relating to worker health monitoring and medical assessment processes Acting as a key liaison between site, medical advisors, external health professionals and internal stakeholders Supporting continuous improvement across health, hygiene and wellbeing systems The Appointee To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated and experienced health and hygiene professional with a strong understanding of mining environments and a genuine commitment to improving workplace health outcomes.
You will bring a balance of technical capability, robust coordination skills and the ability to build trust across all levels of the business.
You will also bring: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health, Safety, Hygiene or a related discipline Return-to-Work Coordinator certification Demonstrated experience in a similar health, hygiene or injury management role within an underground mining environment Strong knowledge of injury management, occupational rehabilitation and workers compensation processes Experience with occupational hygiene monitoring, health risk assessments and exposure management Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities High attention to detail, particularly across compliance, reporting and documentation Robust communication and stakeholder engagement skills A proactive, practical and people-focused approach to health and safety What's in it for you This is an opportunity to step into a highly valued role where your work will directly contribute to the health, wellbeing and safety of the workforce.
