Lucrative Hourly rates $$ A leading Federal Government agency is seeking a Senior VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME) / VMware Specialist to join a high-performing team.
This critical role will support the delivery and maintenance of secure, scalable, and resilient on-premise infrastructure solutions, contributing to the protection of Australia's national interests.
The successful VMware SME will be offered an initial 12-month contract partnered with 2 x 12-month extension options at a lucrative hourly rate.
The successful VMware SME will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Deliver, administer, and maintain on-premise platforms.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and system issues.
Monitor system performance, security events, and capacity.
Implement automation for routine administration tasks.
Plan and execute infrastructure updates and maintenance.
Ensure operational documentation and procedures are current.




Identify opportunities to streamline and improve platform capabilities.
The successful VMware SME must have experience in the following: Minimum 5–10 years' experience in VMware and related infrastructure technologies.
Strong technical expertise in on-premise environments.
Proven ability to manage complex systems.
Proficiency in automation tools and scripting for system administration.
Understanding of risk management, security compliance, and best practices.
