Hybrid working arrangements in Canberra Rewarding hourly rates $$ One of Australia's leading Federal Government agencies is looking to engage 2 experienced Principal Java / Bespoke Software Engineers to support the development and enhancement of a life-critical application used to coordinate maritime and aviation search and rescue operations.
The successful Principal Java / Bespoke Software Engineers will be offered an initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options , based in Canberra with hybrid working arrangements.
The successful Principal Java / Bespoke Software Engineers will play a key role in developing enterprise-grade software, enhancing cloud-based applications and supporting critical systems that underpin Australia's emergency response capabilities.
The successful Principal Java / Bespoke Software Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to: Develop enterprise-grade Java applications.
Build and maintain REST and SOAP APIs.
Design and implement Oracle database solutions.
Support AWS cloud-based integrations.




Maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
The successful Principal Java / Bespoke Software Engineers will have experience in the following: Demonstrated experience with Java and enterprise application development.
Strong experience with Spring, Spring Boot and REST APIs.
Experience with AWS cloud services and integrations.
Solid Oracle database and data modelling skills.
Experience with CI/CD, Maven, Jenkins and Git.
