State Manager – Victoria Melbourne VIC $110,000 – $130,000 + Super + Car Allowance We're seeking an experienced State Manager to lead our Victorian operations within a growing commercial cleaning and facilities services business.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing a multi-site portfolio across Victoria, ensuring cleaning and facilities services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard across a diverse client base.
You'll lead Area Managers and operational teams across multiple sites, manage key client relationships, drive workforce performance, and ensure strong commercial and operational outcomes across the state.
If you have a background in commercial cleaning, facilities management, soft services or other service-based contract environments , and know how to lead dispersed teams while balancing service delivery, labour management and client expectations, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a high-impact state leadership role.
About the role As State Manager, you will take ownership of the operational, financial and people performance of the Victorian portfolio.
You'll oversee day-to-day service delivery across multiple client sites, ensuring contractual obligations are met, standards remain high, and teams are well supported to perform.
You'll play a key role in strengthening operational consistency across the state, building leadership capability within your team, supporting contract mobilisation and transitions, and driving continuous improvement across labour productivity, compliance, service quality and customer retention.
This role suits a strong operational leader who understands the realities of managing large frontline workforces, client-facing service contracts, and multi-site cleaning/facilities operations in a rapid-paced setting.
Key responsibilities Lead and oversee multi-site commercial cleaning and facilities service operations across Victoria Provide leadership,
direction and support to Area Managers and operational teams across a geographically dispersed portfolio Ensure service delivery across client sites is consistent, efficient and aligned to contractual requirements and company standards Monitor operational performance and implement initiatives to improve productivity, service quality and workforce efficiency Oversee labour planning, rosters, resource allocation and service delivery models to support both current operations and future growth Build capability across the leadership team by coaching, mentoring and developing Area Managers and frontline leaders Partner with People Culture on recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management and workforce planning Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of service, responsiveness and customer satisfaction Act as the escalation point for major service issues, client concerns and contractual matters, ensuring timely resolution Lead the mobilisation and transition of new cleaning and facilities contracts into business-as-usual operations Support business growth by contributing operational input into tenders, bids, pricing and strategic opportunities Manage budgets and control labour, subcontractor, equipment and operational costs across the state portfolio Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing improvements to strengthen profitability and operational performance Ensure compliance across WHS, environmental, employment, contractual and company requirements Lead risk management activities including incident investigations, corrective actions, hazard management and compliance reporting Provide accurate reporting across operational, financial,
workforce and compliance performance, while contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives About you To be successful in this role, you will bring: Around 5 years' experience in a senior operations leadership role within commercial cleaning, facilities management, soft services, security, property services or a similar multi-site service environment Demonstrated experience managing large, dispersed frontline workforces across multiple client sites Strong understanding of service-based contract delivery , including labour management, scheduling, productivity and service standards Proven ability to lead leaders, build team capability and drive accountability across multi-site operations Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, labour cost control, financial performance oversight and margin management Experience managing contract mobilisation, transitions and operational growth Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with key stakeholders and major accounts Solid knowledge of WHS, risk, compliance and operational governance within a service delivery environment Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills A current Australian driver's licence Why join?
