Facilities Manager - Join Before Completion Take Ownership Paddington, Sydney Full-time | $180k–$200k package This isn't a standard Facilities Manager role.
You won't just inherit a building - you'll help shape it before it opens , then take full ownership once it's operational.
We're working on a major redevelopment of a 33,000sqm multi-use precinct in Paddington , with practical completion targeted for ****.
The successful candidate will join during the final stages of construction, working closely with the project team to understand the site, manage contractors, and set everything up for a smooth transition into operations.
The opportunity: This is a rare chance to: Get involved during the build phase Learn the site inside out before handover Set up contracts, systems, and suppliers your way Then step into a full Facilities Manager role post-completion The site: A large-scale community and sporting precinct including: Natural turf sports field Aquatic facilities (lap pool + learn to swim) Basketball courts Gym, café, bar, dining function spaces Commercial and community facilities You'll be managing a complex, high-profile workplace , not a standard single-asset site.
Your role: Initially:



Manage contractors through final build stages Oversee defects and liability period Set up service contracts and suppliers Support commissioning and handover Then: Take full ownership of facilities operations Manage all contractors, compliance, and maintenance Oversee specialist systems (including aquatic plant) Lead ongoing improvements and performance of the site What we're looking for: Facilities Management experience across complex sites Comfortable working in a project / build environment Strong contractor and stakeholder management Experience across multiple asset types (ideally sport, leisure, or mixed-use) Ability to take ownership and build systems from the ground up Confident, proactive, and commercially aware Why this role stands out: Most FM roles are reactive.
