We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Key responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Nepalese dishes, including momo, thakali sets, curries, chowmein, thukpa, sel roti, and other traditional menu items.
Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, marinating, seasoning, and measuring them according to recipes.
Prepare traditional Nepalese sauces, chutneys, spice blends, and accompaniments to maintain authentic flavours.
Cook food using a range of methods, including steaming, boiling, stir-frying, grilling, deep-frying, roasting, and simmering.
Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently, maintaining high standards of quality, taste, portion size, and presentation.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked safely and correctly.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen sanitation in accordance with food safety regulations.
Store, label, and rotate food ingredients properly to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering ingredients and kitchen supplies as required.
Inspect the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service during busy periods.
Assist in planning and developing seasonal menus and introducing new traditional Nepalese dishes.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised kitchen at all times.
Skills and qualifications A trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or IV) and/or equivalent practical experience in a commercial kitchen.
A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
Demonstrated experience in preparing authentic Nepalese cuisine specialties.
Sound knowledge of traditional Nepalese cooking techniques, spices, ingredients, and food preparation methods.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety practices.
A reliable, organised, and calm individual with excellent time management skills.
A positive team player with good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a small, busy kitchen environment.
