We're partnering with a purpose‐driven organisation to recruit a newly created Data Lake Technical Lead. This is an opportunity to shape and deliver a secure, enterprise‐grade Azure Data Lake that will become the organisation's central source of truth for research, reporting and decision‐making. If you've designed or implemented Azure‐based data platforms and enjoy combining hands‐on technical leadership with architecture and stakeholder engagement, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role
Reporting to the Director of Policy & Research, you'll take ownership of the organisation's Azure Data Lake environment, leading the technical design, implementation and ongoing evolution of the platform. Working closely with researchers, policy teams and key stakeholders, you'll help build a secure, scalable environment that supports data integration, analytics and reporting while ensuring strong governance and security practices. This is a genuine opportunity to build something from the ground up rather than inherit an existing platform.
Key responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of an Azure Data Lake environment
Build secure, scalable cloud‐based data architecture
Integrate structured and unstructured data sources
Design and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines




Develop secure access models and governance frameworks
Build reporting and analytics capabilities
Partner with technical and non‐technical stakeholders across the organisation
Mentor team members and provide technical leadership
Drive continuous improvement across the data platform
About you
You'll bring experience designing or implementing enterprise Azure data platforms and enjoy working in environments where you can influence architecture and technical direction.
We're looking for experience with:
Azure Data Lake
Azure Synapse and/or Azure Databricks
Azure Data Factory
ETL/ELT pipelines
API integrations
Cloud architecture
Data governance and security
Data modelling and integration
Experience with
Qlik
will be highly regarded.
