Our client is an established renewable energy company specialising in the design and installation of residential and commercial solar energy systems across Victoria.
As the business continues to grow, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Procurement Specialist to develop and manage a data-driven procurement and supply market intelligence function supporting the sourcing of solar components from both domestic and international suppliers.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining procurement, market research and data analysis to support strategic purchasing decisions within a growing renewable energy business.
About the Role Reporting to management, you will take ownership of the procurement function, with a solid focus on supply market research, supplier performance analysis and evidence-based sourcing strategies.
Your responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing procurement strategies for solar panels, inverters, batteries, mounting systems and associated components based on detailed market analysis.
Researching and monitoring domestic and international supply markets to identify trends, opportunities and potential risks.
Collecting, consolidating and analysing supplier and product data, including pricing, lead times, quality performance and warranty records to evaluate and benchmark suppliers.
Conducting landed cost analysis, including freight, customs duties, insurance and foreign exchange impacts, to support commercial purchasing decisions.
Ensuring procured products maintain current Clean Energy Council (CEC) approval and comply with applicable Australian Standards (AS/NZS).
Analysing internal purchasing trends and project pipeline data to forecast component demand and align procurement schedules with installation requirements.
Negotiating pricing, commercial terms and delivery schedules with Australian and international suppliers.




Maintaining procurement records, supplier databases and purchase orders within the company's ERP and procurement systems.
Monitoring supplier performance against agreed cost, quality and delivery targets, while preparing reports and recommendations to support management decision-making and ongoing procurement strategy.
About You To be successful in this role you will have: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, Commerce or a related discipline.
At least three years' professional experience in procurement, supply chain, commercial data analysis, market intelligence or a similar analytical role.
Demonstrated experience analysing large commercial datasets and presenting practical recommendations to support business decisions.
Experience using ERP, CRM, business intelligence or data analytics platforms.
Strong analytical, commercial and cost modelling skills.
Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing procurement activities will be highly regarded.
Mandarin language skills will be highly regarded due to regular engagement with component manufacturers based in China.
Knowledge of the solar or renewable energy industry, including Clean Energy Council (CEC) product approval requirements, will be highly regarded.
Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
