About The Role
Kamala Child and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit is seeking a full-time Health Education Officer, Youth Peer Worker to join the team in Lismore. Kamala services young people and their families who reside in Northern NSW (NNSWLHD) and Mid North Coast LHDs.
Providing peer-based support to young people admitted to the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Unit. The Youth Peer Worker uses personal lived experience to provide vital support, guidance and advocacy to consumers with the focus on building hope, resilience and empowerment for young people. Prioritising building rapport and trust with the clients in the inpatient setting and supporting them though their recovery journey.
Kamala is a high performing team that has been recognised with multiple awards. In ****, the nursing team won the NNSWLHD Nursing and Midwifery Awards and progressed to become finalists in the NSW Health Nursing and Midwifery Awards. The entire team were also awarded winners of the **** NNSWLHD Quality Awards. In addition, Kamala was recognised in the **** YES/CES Awards for their outstanding Carer Experience Survey results.
